2018 Mascoma Valley Parks & Recreation Report

 Canaan Recreation and Enfield Recreation have been fortunate enough to receive grants from UV HEAL, the Children’s Fund and Mascoma Savings Bank to hire a half time Recreation Coordinator to allow us to grow recreation activities in both towns and to share in resources and ideas where feasible.

The Goals for Canaan are as follows:
Staff, supervise and coordinate our Canaan beach program;
Provide information on all recreation programs through school flyers, Play Mascoma! newsletter, web site information, posters and flash emails;
Double the number of programs offered throughout the year and create programs for youth and adults;
Recruit volunteers and program leaders for the programs;
Partner with other town organizations offering recreation or leisure activities including the Senior Center, the Library and area schools;
Coordinate building and field usage;
Explore uses for other community buildings;
Raise funds for the programs through grants, donations, fund-raisers and users fee;
Explore ways to cooperate with Enfield.
